Tung Hai Chuan, known as the modern progenitor of bagua, taught each of his disciples differently, depending on their specific talents and needs. This is the basis of the main bagua lines and schools that have followed.
Liu Hung Chieh, my teacher Bruce Frantzis' teacher, had the honour of attending the original Beijing Bagua School, where he studied with many top bagua masters, including Cheng Yu Long and Ma Gui.
He later married together Yin Fu's Willow Leaf Palm, Cheng Ting Hua's Dragon Palm and Ma Gui's critical qi techniques, giving shape to and powering up the content-rich and multi-layered palms that we train in the Water School today.
