Third and Fourth Palms are a developing pair, which is different to the First and Second Palms, being yang-yin opposites. The smooth, fluid energy of Wind is generated in the Third Palm and develops into the sudden release of condensed pressure, i.e. Thunder energy, in the Fourth Palm.
Whereas the Single Palm Change is pure yang and the Double Palm Change is pure yin:
- The Third Palm is the first combining of yang and yin — yet it remains predominantly yang.
- The Fourth Palm continues the combining of energies — yet it remains predominantly yin.
These two palms begin the process of directly experiencing how the energies developed in Single Palm and Double Palm interact and intertwine within the body, as well as how these energies produce different qualities of motion through bagua palm changes.

In the spring, Paul will teach the foundations of the Third Palm, including all essential neigong and specific qualities of Wind Palm:
- Lengthening
- Twisting in and out
- Generating fluid, continuous motion
- Manifesting yang energy within Wind Palm
- Similarities and differences between the First, Second and Third Palms.

In the autumn, Paul will offer refinements and upgrades to the Wind Palm and teach the foundations of the Fourth Palm, including all essential neigong and specific qualities of both palms:
- Opening and closing
- Lengthening
- Twisting in and out
- Manifesting yin energy within Wind and Thunder Palms
- How to dredge up and release deeply bound tissues and tensions
- Similarities and differences between the first four palms.
