THE KWA, SPINE & LOWER TANTIEN

When beginning qigong, tai chi and/or bagua practice, you quickly learn that the kwa serves as the engine of all movements and as the "leader". The engine produces power and the leader leads by initiating all motion. However, as you progress through training, what powers and leads changes in order to deepen and advance embodiment of neigong. You cycle through the kwa, the spine and the lower tantien as the power generator and the leader — until they are all alive within your form. Then you work towards balancing the three, so that they can integrate into one whole, one unified engine.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This weekend course is designed to open up the multi-layered practices for creating whole-body motion, with each stage of embodiment having the potential to elicit profound changes in body, mind and qi. Each one of these progressive layers can take years to fully embody, and there is no shortcut to true internal cohesion. With this in mind, Paul would like to initiate this deep, internal process, so that you may a) learn the progression and b) train it copiously in your own practice to fully bring alive the trinity.

All material will be moulded to the needs of the attendees from:

Activating and deepening kwa exercises,
Activating the left and right energy channels,
Bringing alive the spine,
The spine as the leader,
Using the kwa and the spine to influence the central channel; to
Rooting from the lower tantien; and
Using the lower tantien to lead, power and unify the body and its qi.

The more solid your practice is on arrival, the more you can potentially gain from this rich and rewarding internal training, a profound mind-body-qi teaching.

This seminar will also serve to build upon the practices of contacting and bringing alive the uses of the lower tantien which were initiated in the spring of 2023.

Heaven & Earth Qigong, Tai Chi and Bagua

Friday evening will serve as an introduction to this deep, internal practice and will be presented through the two-part Heaven and Earth Qigong movement.

Saturday Sunday — Choose your group:

New and existing students are welcome to learn/refine Heaven and Earth Qigong.
You must know a tai chi form or the Bagua Single Palm Change to join either of these groups. No choreography will be taught.

All Students Welcome

This in-depth training is available to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, so you can experience a taste of what traditional neigong practice has to offer, naturally absorbing the internal content relevant to your personal development, level of understanding and interests. All students will be exposed to the majority of the course content in order to learn the roadmap, so you understand where you are at and where you are headed. Some techniques might not be suitable for all students and Paul reserves the right to make the final decision about whether anyone learns more advanced material.
