In this six-day course, take a deep dive into the choreography and internal (neigong) content of Heaven and Earth Qigong, including:

• The structure of the two-part Heaven and Earth exercise.
• Bending-and-Stretching neigong as preparation for pulsing techniques.
• Pulsing the major joints and cavities of the body.
• Breathing within Heaven and Earth Qigong, and its relationship to pulsing.
• The qi pathways that are ignited and strengthened through the pulse.
• Material that spontaneously arises from the needs and interests of the participants — all of Paul’s in-person courses are adjusted to those in attendance.

The primary focus of this retreat will be on pulsing, a yin neigong, in order to contact and engage the major joints and cavities of the body, targeting the first three layers of the pulse:

• The physical, soft tissues (fascia and ligaments).
• The synovial and interstitial fluids.
• The energies of the joints and cavities themselves. 

Both solo and partner practices will be used to tune into the pulse, increase its effectiveness and unify the body into one, integrated pulse and power up the two-part Heaven and Earth exercise. As many TTCS Instructors will be in attendance, this is an excellent opportunity to work with skilled teachers to create a direct experience that can propel your practice forwards in the weeks and months following the course.

Applying Neigong in Higher-level Qigong, Tai Chi & Bagua

As a Wood Element neigong (of the Five Element neigong system), Heaven and Earth Qigong is the classic practice where opening and closing is learned and developed. Once the pulse is alive, it can easily and naturally be transferred to higher-level qigong forms, tai chi and bagua.

Students are not required to test for certification. Prospective teachers/certified TTCS and Energy Arts Instructors are welcome to attend this course to upgrade their skills provided that they attend either the Heaven and Earth Qigong seminar in April or the one directly preceding this course.

Paul Cavel is empowered by Master Bruce Frantzis to certify teachers in Heaven and Earth Qigong up to Level 6.

A teaching certificate issued by Energy Arts, based in Colorado, USA, will be awarded to those who complete all prerequisite training and pass the final assessment.

Certified Heaven and Earth Qigong Instructors will also receive a profile on the school websites of both Energy Arts and The Tai Chi Space.

As a Senior Instructor the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain, Paul Cavel can also sign off on your application to become a member and obtain liability insurance.
